The Biggest Footgolf Event in England Is Back — Here’s What You Need to Know
The FIFG Masters English Open is returning to Devon in August 2026. Whether you’re a die-hard competitor or just footgolf-curious, this is worth getting excited about.

It’s official. The FIFG Masters English Open 2026 is happening at the Ashbury Golf Resort in Devon from 20th to 23rd August.
The FootGolf Association of England made the announcement after last year’s event was a huge hit. And if 2025 is anything to go by, 2026 is going to be even better.
Last year’s event drew players from 35 countries. It was the biggest footgolf competition in the world in 2025. That’s a big deal — and England was right at the centre of it.
“The English Open isn’t just a tournament. It’s the place where the world’s best footgolfers come to compete — right here in the UK.”
What actually happens at the event?
Players from all over the world come to the Ashbury Resort and compete across two courses over four days. The format is strokeplay — lowest score wins, just like in golf.
There are categories for men, women, seniors, and senior plus players. So whatever your age, there’s a spot for you.
There’s also a Pairs event. That’s where two players team up and compete together. It’s a great way to get involved if you want a bit of friendly competition without the pressure of going solo.
Why Ashbury is the perfect venue
The Ashbury Golf Resort is in Devon and it’s a brilliant place to spend a weekend. The resort has a dedicated footgolf course called the Willow Course. It’s open to guests, so you can watch the pros compete and then have a go yourself.
Spectators are welcome all weekend. If you’re staying at the resort, you can watch for free. It’s a proper event — not just a tournament. Think of it as a great day out for the whole family.
The resort also has over 450 golf buggies — the most at any golf resort in Europe. That might sound like a random fact, but it means the event runs smoothly even with hundreds of players competing at once.
What’s at stake for players
This is a FIFG Major. That means it’s one of the most important events in the global footgolf calendar.
Players earn world ranking points here. Those points feed into the European and global standings. And with the FIFG World Cup taking place in Mexico later in 2026, the English Open could be a key moment for anyone chasing a place on the international stage.
If you’re on the Kelme National Tour — the English national footgolf tour — this is the biggest event of your season. Don’t miss it.
How to get involved
Registration details haven’t been released yet. But based on previous years, early sign-ups usually get a discount. Keep an eye on the FootGolf Association of England website for updates.
Even if you’re not competing, it’s worth going along as a spectator. There’s nothing quite like watching world-class footgolf in person — and it might just inspire you to pick up the sport yourself.
